This is such an appropriate award for them, too. A show's main character group doesn't get much more diverse than a heap of non-Caucasian kids/staff, gay kid, wheelchair kid, Jewish kids, child of same-sex couple, OCD teacher, pregnant kid. The best thing is that they aren't exactly the top of the social ladder, but they're still all being empowered in some way or another.
