I agree that the lip synching and auto tune was jarring for me in the beginning, especially because showing the cast learning the songs and making mistakes along the way is perfect for comedy.
I enjoy the show enough that I start ignoring it but then last week had the song 'Ride With Me' which sounded more natural. I don't see why 'Hate On Me' couldn't have sounded like that. It was odd to me that the entire group just jumped into song and dance at a rehearsal like that; but that level of ridiculous is kind of expected for me now.
Though I don't agree with the worry that high school students would think they would have to match up with that in such a short time.
