My biggest issue with the show actually is exactly the point that it often doesn't accurately reflect the reality of rehearsals in this way. I can believe that the kids are talented and can learn things quickly, but all of the rehearsal scenes are a little too perfect; do all the characters have perfect pitch? Are they really that amazing at sight reading?
As for the quickness of putting together numbers, this doesn't bother me as much seeing as it's very much a TV show, & it's not like we as viewers really believe that everything in an episode is going on in 1 hour; it's not in real time.
The lip synching cracks me up. I agree they could probably sync up the tracks a little bit better but this isn't something that really bothers me.
And on kind of a completely different note, I think things like "Bust Your Windows" and "You Keep Me Hanging On" are wonderful the way they are-- a little produced and obviously professionally choreographed, yes, but they're supposed to be, like in any musical, a way for the characters to express the inner workings of their feelings.
