Finn in 02x03

glee_fansI have read many comments about how selfish Finn's wishes were in last night's episode and about how he didn't pray for Burt's recovery.
I see where people are coming from, his wishes were very self-centred in my opinion, however how could the script handled it if Finn had asked for Burt's recovery and he had woken up? Wouldn't that had led to the characters who have faith saying that there definitely is a higher power of some sort?
(This might not make much sense; it is 08:30 in the morning over here, but I wanted to put this out there....)
