In what could be a musical theater gleek’s wildest dreams, Ryan Murphy is one of four directors currently in discussions with Wicked producer Marc Platt to direct the film version of the popular musical.

Having already cast Wicked alumni Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth on Glee, the Murphy/Wicked stars seem to have already begun aligning.

The film adaptation is in the very early stages of production and no definite answers are coming in the near future.

"I think it's one of those things where they have invited some people to come in and give them their take, but they are in absolutely no hurry to get that movie made because the show is such a huge success," Murphy says.

The great year for Jane Lynch (Sue) just keeps going — between Glee, magazine covers, Emmy nominations, a marriage, and even the release of her thought to be lost 2007 film I Do & I Don't, which hits DVD this week. In conjunction with the DVD release, Jane talked to Vulture and gave them the lowdown on all things Sue Sylvester.

On Glee fame and Season 2: "That it’s happening now is really sweet, though at the same time, I’m kind of slowing down my life. In terms of my career, I’m not running around at the fever pitch like I used to. I’ve got my family, and I’m renovating my house — I’m really doing some nesting, so it’s sweet to have Glee, which is at least going to be on for a couple seasons. We start up again this week, and I’m really excited to get back. They haven’t told me anything."

On getting to sing with Olivia Newton-John: "With all these great singers around, all day long, I probably sing the most out of anyone — but it’s unconscious. By the end of the day people are going, 'Shut up!' But really, it was amazing. Just look at who I got to perform with and the songs I got to do! The 'Physical' video was just such a hoot, and Olivia Newton-John couldn’t have been more fun. She was so willing to make fun of herself — she played such a bitch in the last episode! Both [creator] Ryan [Murphy] and I are huge fans, and we were talking about that in the beginning of the season, and randomly, we ran into the guy who wrote all her big hits — we saw him at a restaurant. And Ryan said to him, 'You know, I’d love to get Olivia Newton-John on the show,' and then I got a call from him saying, 'Guess who I got!?' It was unbelievable."

On the progression of last season: "I love how all the characters progressed; I love what they did with Kurt; I love how they started to give Heather and Naya (who play Brittany and Santana) more stuff. I was never more proud than when I saw those guys onstage during the tour."

On Sue's infamous track suit: "I did this photo shoot for Entertainment Weekly in which they made me a ball gown out of a tracksuit, though they never actually ended up running the pictures. I thought it’d be great if Sue ended up wearing one of those to the prom. I think we had them sent to wardrobe, so we’ll see!"
