Um, Blaine is the first out gay boy Kurt has ever met. Give the kid a break. The worship is kind of legit. I'm more upset that Mercedes thinks she need to have a boyfriend to make up for her Kurt time instead of just hanging out with Tina or Quinn or something. Even though I want Mercedes to get some loving, I think she's going about it the wrong way.

However, Karofsky's death threat is not making me ship them anymore. :| I think it would be cool if Kurt could get to him and they could maybe form some kind of alliance. But I'm sorry, that kind of threat is not okay. That's beyond the kind of animosity I normally dig in my ships.

But, OMG WILL AND TERRI! XD I started shipping them harder in this episode than I ever did before!

Holly can definitely stay. She was incredible. And I was never a huge Gwenyth fan, but she's slowly becoming a favorite. She rocked in this episode. And the music... yeah, musical theatre heaven. I was in heaven.

And I LOVED Rachel in this episode. And it was nice to finally see the rest of the Glee club actually cheering her on and enjoying her performance instead of just tolerating it. About damn time!

All in all, I would call this episode another win.

oh, I totally get where Kurt is coming from with the worship. but just for full context, I typed that right when he gazed at the picture of Blaine that he had in his locker and not during the Kurt/Blaine/Mercedes scene. Because... Seriously? Who does that? Taking the literal concept of putting someone up on a pedestal in that way is a little creepy to me and I would feel that way about any ship.

agreed on Karofsky/Kurt but I think that kind of reaction is completely valid in the way that unfortunately, a lot of youth can feel that way upon realizing that they're gay and that someone knows, especially if they're of the Karofsky type. I'm okay with Glee portraying the negative part of GLBT issues because they exist and just showing them in such a mainstream manner, I think, can be a benefit if handled in an appropriate and responsible way, just by raising awareness.

You know I agree with everything else.

I think what Kurt needs right now is someone he can put up on a pedestal. Someone he can look up to and go to. I ship Blaine and Kurt, but not at the stage they are at in their relationship right now. Kurt needs time and just a friend. Right now, that's what Blaine is for him, and that's good enough for now. I hope it some day develops into more, but that's because I see the potential for them to become more. Once they get to know each other better.

I completely agree on the way they are handling Karofsky and Kurt and raising awareness of this issue. But I meant from a shipping aspect, it's just something I can't quite get behind. While I understand where Karofsky is coming from, I'm concerned for Kurt.

I'm not saying that I disagree with you at all; in fact, I really strongly agree with you (especially that Kurt needs Blaine as a friend, more than he needs him as a boyfriend right now). I'm just saying that I think it's a little unusual that Kurt has a picture of him in his locker.

I totally agree that it's not the healthiest way for a ship to develop, too. That may have not been clear the way I phrased it in my last comment. You know, when I said that I agree. ;) But yeah, we are really on the same page on all of this. Shocker!

Okay, musical numberwise, I liked the Cielo cover and the Chicago number, but Make 'Em Laugh and the Umbrella/Singin' In The Rain mashup - DDDDDDDDDD-: Seriously. While I really like Harry Shum as a physical comedian (The LXD has some great examples of this), he's not Donald O'Connor (yet), and their decision to stick so closely to the original choreography highlighted that. Morrison is also definitely not Donald O'Connor. And Umbrella/Singin' in the Rain really did not work on many, many levels for me, not least of which being that one is a hard-times song and the other one is the ultimate happy-times song.

Unfortunately, the bitter from that kind of polluted the rest of the episode for me:

-I was happy that Mercedes got screentime, but pissed that it was once again food/man-centric.
-The main plot was after-school specialicious again, but in a good way.
-The Will/Terri subplot was creepy, desperate, and the grossest thing about an episode that featured people getting sneezed on in slow-motion.
-I continue to ship Kurtofsky with an irrational passion. Theirloveissofuckedup, anyone? No? I'll be over here, then.
